  1. With an elevation of 842 meters, Cerro Tres Kand or Cerro Peró is Paraguay's highest peak (2,762 ft). It is situated in the Ybytyruz hill range in the municipality of General Eugenio Garay, Guairá Department. This hill was significant to the Paraguayan Armed Forces because it served as a key site for the army's radio-link or repeater. On this hill, the national electrical company (ANDE) had also installed a radio communication repeater. These installations are now decommissioned.

Cerro Peró features a diverse biodiversity and a vast forest cover that extends all the way to the summit. Migratory birds and a variety of huge creatures can be found in the forest. From the summit of Peró, you can see most of the Chaco region, including the adjacent cities and villages. Long journeys to the mountain's base are the only way to reach it. In Paraguay, Cerro Peró is a significant geographical landmark as well as a popular tourist destination.
