    Yushan

Yushan, also known as Mount Jade, Jade Mountain, or Mount Yu, and known as Mount Niitaka during Japanese occupation, is Taiwan's highest mountain, rising 3,952 meters (12,966 feet) above sea level and giving Taiwan the world's fourth-highest maximum elevation. Outside the Kamchatka Peninsula, it is the highest point in the western Pacific. The Yushan Range includes Yushan and its adjacent mountains. The area was formerly underwater, but due to the migration of the Eurasian Plate over the Philippine Sea Plate, it has risen to its current height.

Yushan National Park has been established to safeguard the mountains. Taiwan's national park is the country's largest, highest, and most inaccessible. It contains the largest tract of wilderness remaining on the island.

The mountain is home to lush woods and a wide range of faunas, the majority of which is indigenous or unusual. In the Yushan, there are deciduous, coniferous, and evergreen broadleaf woods, as well as mosses and liverworts at higher elevations. Yushan is a popular destination for mountain climbers and hikers.

  2. Mount Xueshan, also known as Mount Sylvia and other names, is a mountain in Taichung's Heping District. At 3,886 meters (12,749 feet) above sea level, it is Taiwan's and East Asia's second highest peak. It is located in the Shei-Pa National Park and can be seen from the hills around Taiwan's capital Taipei in good weather.

Shei-Pa National Park contains the mountain. Mountaineering and hiking are the most popular activities on the mountain, with the maintained track being the most accessible. During the winter, the mountain is covered in snow. The mountain is home to a diverse range of uncommon plants and animals, some of which are native to Taiwan. There are rivers that originate in the mountain and flow through it. Climbers must apply for a park admission permit because Xueshan is part of the Shei-Pa National Park. This can be done seven to thirty days ahead of time. After that, you must apply for a police mountain entry permit. This can be done on the spot at the Wuling Farm police station.

On the trail, there are two cabins. The first, Chika Cabin, is located at a distance of 2.0 kilometers (1.2 miles). The second, 369 Cabin, is located at a distance of 6.9 kilometers (4.3 miles). Both cabins are sparsely furnished and include bunker-style beds. Hikers are responsible for bringing their own sleeping and culinary equipment.

  3. Shukoran is a 3,825-meter-high mountain in Taiwan's Yushan National Park. The Xiuguluan River, which has numerous tributaries nearby, including the Fuyuan River, Fengping River, and Lekuleku River, is located in Hualien County.

Broadleaf woods and subtropical moist forest can be found on the peak. Because the mountain is located in Taiwan's active zone, it is prone to frequent and large earthquakes, as well as landslides and flooding in its lowland sections.

    Elevation: 3,825 metres (12,549 ft)

Location: Xinyi, Nantou County/Zhuoxi, Hualien County, Taiwan

  4. Mount Mabolasi is a Taiwanese mountain. The mountain is in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, close to the Hualien County border. Mount Wulameng is another name for it.

Because the mountain is located within Yushan National Park, it shares the park's rich biodiversity as well as its high altitudes, which support a variety of plant and animal species. The Mabolasi Mountain ranges are the source of some Taiwanese rivers.

  5. Nanhu Dashan and its adjacent summits are all located in Taroko National Park's northwest corner, and hence fall under the Park Headquarters' administration. Hikers must apply for a Park Access Permit and a Mountain Access Permit before entering this trail because it is located within the Ecological Protection Area.

Nanhu Dashan is one of the Baiyue's (Taiwan's Top 100 Peaks) "Big Five" peaks, located near the northern end of the Central Mountain Range (the other four being Jade Mountain, Snow Mountain, Mt. Xiuguluan, and Mt. Beidawu). Mt. Zhongyangjian, which borders Nanhu Dashan to the south and is part of the same realm as Nanhu Dashan, is one of Baiyue's "Pointy Three" (the other two being Mt. Dabajian and Mt. Dafenjian). During the winter, the Nanhu Dashan Mountains are frequently blanketed in snow, making the journey more challenging. Those who intend to visit this location during the winter should exercise extreme caution and have prior winter mountaineering experience.
