  1. Six miles from the Algerian border, Jebel ech Chambi is located in Al Qasrayn, Tunisia, near Kef Zemzoumet Aissa. The peak climbs to a height of 5,066 feet above sea level, making it the country's highest point and highest mountain. The Tabassah Mountains, which are also part of the Sahara Atlas Mountains, include Jebel ech Chambi. The mountain is located in Central Tunisia, overlooking the city of Kasserine.

From March to October, this mountain offers a complete seven-month season, allowing adventurous hikers to fully explore the pine-covered slopes. The mountain can be walked across, making it ideal for both novice and experienced hikers.

Jebel ech Chambi is part of the Chaambi National Park and is covered in pine forest. There are now roughly twenty-four distinct species of mammals and fifteen different species of reptiles in this area. Barbary sheep, also known as Aoudad sheep, are frequently seen grazing, their immensely curled horns a striking sight. Their young cavort on the steep slopes virtually from birth, from March to May, which coincides wonderfully with trekking season. Jebel ech Chambi is a terrorist hotspot that presents a fresh challenge for both the Tunisian and Algerian armies.
