  1. Gerlachovský štít, also known as Gerlach, is the highest peak in the High Tatras, Slovakia. It is typically listed at 2,655 meters above mean sea level. It is one of the greatest massifs in the Tatras, and is one of the most frequented summits in the High Tatras due to its height, accessibility, and stunning mountain landscape.

Mountain hikers should not miss Gerlachovský štít. The ascent to the summit is only possible with the assistance of a mountain guide, whose services are supplied by the Tatra National Park's Mountain Service. This excursion begins at the mountain hotel Sliezsky dom, which is also the closest cottage. The trail leads to the 15-meter-high Velick waterfall from the valley terrace Kvetnica, from which a tiny unmarked road leads. This leads to the Velická próba, a typical ascent path to the peak's summit.

Of course, in addition to the foregoing, excellent weather and proper conditions are essential. In inclement weather, the ascent is extremely difficult. Summer climb conditions are best from the end of May through the end of September, and sometimes until the end of October. Gerlach can be reached even in the winter, mainly by Batizovska próba. It is more technically difficult than in the summer.

  2. Lomnický štít is one of Slovakia's tallest and most frequented mountain summits. Its summit is 2634 meters above sea level and is connected by cable car to Tatranská Lomnica, making it the second-highest mountain in the High Tatras after Gerlachovský štít (2655 m).

Since 1940, tourists have used a cable cars to reach the summit. They are permitted to remain on the peak for 50 minutes. The cable car system is usually closed in May for annual maintenance. It is also possible to ascend the peak from Lomnický Saddle, but only with the assistance of a mountain guide.

Almost all that can be seen in the High Tatras can be seen from Lomnický štít. Most of the notable peaks are visible from Krivá to Gerlach, Vysoká , Rysy, Pyšný štít to Jahňací and Kežmarok shield. Other Liptov mountains, such as Roháče, Belianské Tatry and Nízke Tatry, can also be seen. So remember to bring a map and a camera.

  3. With an elevation of 2627 meters above sea level, Ľadový štít is the third highest peak in the High Tatras and a popular mountain guide climb.

Ľadový štít is situated between Mal adov tt and Zadn adov tt on the main ridge of the High Tatras. It is separated from the Zadný Ľadový štít by Ľadová priehyba a známy Ľadový kôň – a length of around 20 meters of narrow rock slabs. It gained its name from Ľadová dolina, which runs from Javorová dolina into the northern slope of this summit and stores snow all year. The mountain itself does not have snow all year.

Due to the Tatra National Park's visitation guidelines, travelers can only reach the peak with the assistance of a mountain guide. Climbers from any climbing organization can reach the summit through any route more demanding than UIAA II.

Most people start their trek to the top at Téry's cottage, where they can stay a day ahead of time. For those with more energy, it is possible to begin climbing in Starý Smokovec and one day ascend to its summit before returning to Starý Smokovec.

  4. Pyšný štít, historically also known as Lastovičia veža, is the fourth highest peak in the High Tatras of Slovakia, standing at 2621 m above sea level. It is situated on a ridge halfway between Barani sedlo and Lomnický štít. Malý Pyšný štít is nearby, and between the two peaks is a little ten-meter-high rock tower known as Loktibrada.

Pyšný štít, like the other peaks on the ridge, is inaccessible to tourists, except for its famous neighbor, Lomnický štít, to which a cable car leads. The only official way to reach the peak is to climb or trek with a licensed mountain guide.

Téry's cottage in Malá Studená dolina is usually where the path to the peak begins. You can either stay here or go to Zamkovského chat, which is a little further down. The mountain leader has already decided on the next step based on the existing conditions. You can register in the top book and enjoy the circular panorama at the top (2627 m). The view from the top is spectacular!
